Pennyhill Park Wedding

November 7th, 2013

Back in July, I was lucky enough to beautify a bride who was getting married at Pennyhill Park Hotel and Spa in Surrey. A stunning location both inside the house and outside in the grounds. And the wedding of Claire and Ferhaan certainly equalled the locations beauty.

I first met Claire a couple of months before, at her home in London for her trial. We sat down and discussed her expectations for her makeup and also what her sister and mother would be wanting. She talked me through some of the details of the day they had planned and how it would reflect her choices in her makeup.

Claire and Ferhaan had ensured the big day married together the different traditional ceremonies of their cultural backgrounds. It made for a truly gorgeous day.

When I arrived at Pennyhill Park, I met Claire in her suite along with her mother, sister and gorgeous nieces and set up as close to the natural light as possible. I hadn’t worked with the photographer Adam Szczepanski before so it was nice to get to know his work too. He is responsible for all the photos in this post.

Now with the makeup, we came to the conclusion that a simple contoured eye, shaped brow and black flicked liner would be the core of the design but with different lipsticks to compliment the different dresses.

The old faithful Laura Mercier Eye Basic on Wheat first, to prep the lid before any shadow is applied, to correct colour and to enhance the longevity of the eye makeup.

Claire is undeniably a natural beauty and doesn’t require much assistance……..lucky thing, so we kept the skin natural and clean by mixing MAC’s Face and Body foundation with Laura Mercier’s Silk Creme to ensure she looked flawless.

We used some individual lashes by Shu Uemura on the outer corner of the eye to really lift the flick which was created using Bobbi Brown’s Gel Liner in Black.

Finishing touches to the hair and nearly ready to go.

The happy couple in the grounds taking their vows.

And finally a quick change for the evening reception into this fabulous evening dress and  stronger lip to intensify the makeup.

As a makeup artist, you don’t always get to witness the final day in all its glory so it’s great to be allowed to view the pictures taken by such great photographers.

Thanks to Adam at for allowing me to use his work on this website and to the happy couple for giving their permission for me to share their beautiful day with you.
